CLAIRE KIRRAGE – Counsellor Dip, registered MBACP

Claire has been a therapist since 1999, providing counselling to children, young people and adults in a variety of settings across Kent.

She has worked in many schools, founded and directed a counselling service, provides clinical supervision to therapists and other professionals. She is also a trained mindfulness teacher.

    The aims of counselling

Therapy is a gentle and supportive space, provided for a person to feel understood and heard, so that they may make their own choices, decisions and decide ways to make these a reality.

Claire provides counselling rooted in the person-centred approach, but also draws on many other theoretical approaches, which are best suited to each individual person.

She is there to listen, to understand, never to judge, to genuinely care about and work on the things that are important to you.

    What is counselling?

Therapy can take on many forms from talking therapy to being more creative, using art and play, depending on how you best communicate and what you need at the time.

Claire will usually arrange a free initial consultation by phone and then together you will agree the best time to meet at the clinic for your sessions.

Sessions are usually weekly and are for 50 minutes. Some people ask for short term and some for long term support.

Claire is a qualified counsellor, supervisor and mindfulness teacher and is a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and is bound by its Ethical Framework for good practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
